“Lakeland Mold Company provides innovative solutions to our customer’s needs through world-class tooling and fosters development of employees who contribute positively to their communities.”
“Lakeland's mission is to be the supplier of choice in our customer's eyes because of the value we supply in our products and services.”
The art of pattern making will always be essential to our business, as the pattern (or model) allows you to review, modify, and approve the design prior to the aluminum casting process. The pattern review process can be performed in-person at the Lakeland Mold Company facility or at the molder/customer’s location. Additionally, Lakeland’s advanced electronic data communication capability facilitates “virtual pattern reviews” that preclude the necessity for on-site review meetings.
The pattern is a representation of the molded plastic part, and will be manufactured to include shrink factors for both aluminum (1.0%) and plastic (generally 2.0 – 3.0%). The plastic shrink factor will be specified by the rotational molder and will be determined by the type of plastic material used to mold the part.
Depending on the project, we will recommend a conventional (i.e. hand-built) pattern or a CNC machined pattern that best suits your needs and expedites the order-to-delivery process. Lakeland has state-of-the art in-house capability for manufacturing both conventional and CNC patterns, and has also developed capable outsource partnerships to augment our in-house pattern-making capacity.
